The State was formed on 30th March 1949 when Rajputana – name as adopted by British Crown was merged into the Dominion of India.

In the west, Rajasthan is relatively dry and infertile; this area includes some of the Thar Desert, also known as the Great Indian Desert. In the southwestern part of the state, the land is wetter, hilly, and more fertile. The climate varies throughout Rajasthan. On average winter temperatures range from 8° to 28° C (46° to 82° F) and summer temperatures range from 25° to 46° C (77° to 115° F). Average rainfall also varies; the western deserts accumulate about 100 mm (about 4 in) annually, while the southeastern part of the state receives 650 mm (26 in) annually, most of which falls from July through September during the monsoon season.

Rajasthan Capital as per 2021 Census

Jaipur the capital of Rajasthan state in India was founded in 1727 by Maharaj Jai Singh II, who ruled Jaipur State from 1699–1744. Initially his capital was Amber, which lies at a distance of 11 km from Jaipur. He felt the need of shifting his capital city with the increase in population and growing scarcity of water.

After independence in 1947, Jaipur was made capital of the newly-formed state of Rajasthan. Jaipur is a popular tourist destination in India and forms a part of the west Golden Triangle tourist circuit along with Delhi and Agra (240 km, 149 mi).

Rajasthan official Languages 2021

The official language in Rajasthan is Marwari, spoken in one form or other, mainly in and around the district of Jodhpur. Marwari has many cognate words with Hindi. Notable phonetic correspondences include ‘s’ in Hindi with ‘h’ in Marwari.

Marwari: the most spoken Rajasthani language with approximately 45 to 50 million speakers situated in the historic Marwar region of western Rajasthan.

Basically Marwari word is originated from Marwar. It’s a region in Rajasthan. People of Marwar are called as Marwari like people from Mewar (Kingdom of Maharana Pratap) called as Mewari. Both Marwari and Mewari are languages but not registered by GOI because they show 50–60% resemblance to Hindi.
